AIDA Youth (Freediving) Junior Dolphin

Now your child can finally dive with a certification!
Every parent of a freediver hopes their children can join them underwater and experience the joy of freediving. AIDA's newly launched youth course meets this need. The main goal of the course is to educate them on how to play safely in the water, enhance safety while swimming, and build confidence and water skills.
Reasons for Teens to Learn Freediving:
Freediving combines leisure and competition, with competitive events requiring participants to be at least 18 years old. However, many world champions began freediving as children. For example, Alexey Molchanov, a constant weight (CWT) world champion, was capable of dynamic apnea (DYN) over 70 meters at age 8, and William Trubridge, a no-fins constant weight (CNF) world champion, started at age 6. These champions likely never envisioned their future achievements; they simply loved the water and the ocean.
If your child loves water and the sea, consider letting them try freediving—it could become a lifelong skill that promotes both physical and mental health.
AIDA Youth Freediver Course Safety Features:
Strong Safety Awareness for TeensInstructors for this course must pass certification, with all assessments requiring a perfect score to teach the course. A significant portion of the training includes child psychology, behavior, and language protection tailored for children.
No Extreme Assessments for TeensFor safety reasons, the course does not include static apnea (STA) or dynamic apnea (DYN) training, nor does it encourage students to challenge breath-holding limits or long-distance dynamic apnea. The course focuses on:
Mastering underwater skills
Enhancing aquatic abilities
Experiencing underwater sports
Improving underwater coordination
Strengthening physical health
Diving can only occur under adult supervision, and there are no requirements for static apnea times or dynamic apnea distances. Students are encouraged to practice diving safely at their own pace.
Experience and Interest DevelopmentBesides learning basic course content, there are playful assessment activities, such as collecting objects from the pool bottom and navigating underwater obstacles.
Small Class SizesStudents' underwater movement time, based on age, will not exceed 40 seconds. Each instructor can guide a maximum of four students at a time to ensure safety.
Parent InvolvementParents must also learn and be assessed on rescue knowledge, participating in the course to understand how to supervise their children's practice. There will be a written test on safety and post-class guidance that parents must pass.
