PADI Freediver Instructor course

PADI Freediver Instructor Course focuses on enhancing your underwater skills and teaching abilities. You will not only master the standards and procedures of the PADI freediving system, but also learn instructional techniques and risk management. In addition, the course covers in-depth knowledge of freediving physiology and psychology.
Once you become a PADI Freediver Instructor, you can conduct PADI Basic Freediver and PADI Freediver courses and issue globally recognized PADI certifications to your students.
Enrollment Requirements:
Meet one of the following:
PADI Master Freediver (or equivalent, such as AIDA 4 Star / Molchanovs Wave 3)
PADI Scuba Instructor and PADI Advanced Freediver
Freediving instructor certification from another system (eligible for Crossover to become a PADI Freediver Instructor)
At least 18 years old
PADI Diving Medical Statement signed by a physician within the last 12 months
Certificate of completion for EFR Primary and Secondary Care training within the last 24 months (or equivalent)
Equipment Requirements:
Candidates must bring their own freediving gear (bi-fins, mask, snorkel, weight belt or neck weight, wetsuit, safety line, dive computer, etc.).

Freediving Supervision & Teaching Skills: Confined Water Session 3 (2 hrs)
Afternoon:
Freediving Supervision & Teaching Skills: Open Water Session 1 (4 hrs)
Day 3:
Morning:
Safety & Risk Management, Environmental Protection, Freediving Planning & Marketing (4 hrs)
Afternoon:
Freediving Supervision & Teaching Skills: Open Water Session 2 (4 hrs)
Day 4:

Open Water Session 3 & Rescue Assessment (4 hrs)
Afternoon:
PADI Freediver Instructor Theory Exam (2 hrs)
Total course hours: 30 hours
Graduation Requirements:
Pass teaching skills assessments: 3 confined water and 3 open water sessions
Demonstrate the following skills at demonstration level:
Static Apnea (STA): 2 minutes 30 seconds
Dynamic Apnea (DYN): 50 meters
Constant Weight with Bi-fins (CWTB): 20 meters
Proper rescue of a blackout diver from 15 meters depth
Competency in safety and risk management
Pass the instructor theory exam
Upon Completion, You Will Receive:
PADI Freediver Instructor status-authorized to conduct PADI Basic Freediver and Freediver courses and issue globally recognized certifications
Solid freediving skills and teaching ability
Ongoing teaching support after the course
Outstanding graduates may have the opportunity to become contract instructors with the Macau Freediving Association and Macau Merfolks

Fees Include:
Instructor manual, cue cards, eLearning, instructor and training fees, all in-water fees
Fees not Include:
Transportation, meals, accommodation, PADI instructor application fee, annual instructor renewal fee, and any other unspecified costs
