Studio City Indoor Waterpark - PADI Basic Mermaid Certification Course

The PADI Basic Mermaid Certification Course is the first step in developing mermaid skills. Through this course, you will systematically learn mermaid diving skills and obtain a certificate.

 

Studio City Waterpark - PADI Basic Mermaid Certification Course includes:​

  • VIP Exclusive Use of the pools at Studio City Indoor Waterpark during private time (9am-12pm)

  • One free entrance for the Studio City Waterpark indoor and outdoor areas (Equivalent to MOP $580)

  • Professional coaching in Basic Mermaid diving by PADI Mermaid Instructor (Instructor to Student Ratio- max 1:2)

What you learn in the Course:

-Theory Session (through PADI eLearning®, around 30 minutes self-study):

  • Learn the basic knowledge of mermaid diving

-Confined Water Session (around 3 hours):

  • Warm-up and stretching before entering the water;

  • Equipment preparation, putting on, removal and maintenance;

  • Entering and exiting the water;

  • Weight adjustment;

  • Dolphin kick;

  • Equalization skills;

  • Safety skills (2 minutes of floating / treading water wearing all mermaid equipment; cramp relief );

  • Other mermaid diving skills and practice

Prerequisites:

-6 years of age or older (6-8 years old kid requires instructor 1:1 care)

-Ability to swim at least 25m

-Ability to float comfortably at the surface for at least 3 minutes

Terms and Conditions for Mermaid Courses:

  1. Booking must be made 1 day in advance.

  2. The teacher-student ratio for each PADI Mermaid Experience is 1:1 for ages 6 – 8 and 1:2 for ages 8 and older.

  3. Participating guests must be at least the minimum age required for erollment in the course. Participants under 18 years old must obtain a consent form signed by their parents/ guardians.

  4. Participants over the age of 60 must submit Diving medical clearance to diving instructor for verification.

  5. Participants are required to follow the below medical requirements:

    - Customers affected by these medical conditions should not be allowed to participate in the dive – Such as asthma, epilepsy, diabetes (insulin dependent), pregnancy, and recent episode of heart or lung conditions (e.g. heart attack, angina, pneumonia, pneumothorax and Covid-19) within six months.

    - Customers with these medical conditions require medical examination and must submit a Medical Clearance – Such as history of heart or lung disease, unexplained episode(s) of loss of consciousness or ‘blackout’, history of nausea or vomiting, shortness of breath, repeated trouble clearing air spaces, appearance of not being physically fit, etc.

    - Acute illness that requires participants to return to normal health, prior to their dive – Such as cold, flu, injuries that significantly affect diving capability, illness or generally being “unwell”, sinus related illness (swelling, blockage or inflammation of sinuses), conditions requiring prescription medication that causes drowsiness or fatigue (may require a medical release), etc. Participants with the above medical conditions may be allowed to join the tour once they have fully recovered.

  6. Studio City reserves the right to restrict participants to perform the activity should the participant fail to meet the medical requirements during the assessment.

  7. The participant is fully liable should any health issues occur during the activity that has been known prior by the participant but not declared.

  8. All participants should be required to provide at least one readily verifiable Emergency Contact Information prior to acceptance in the diving activities.

  9. All participants must read and sign

    a) the PADI Release of Liability/ Assumption of Risk/ Non-Agency Acknowledgement Form,

    b) the PADI Diver Medical History Form,

    c) PADI Safe Mermaiding Practices Statement of Understanding. If there are any problems with the PADI Free Diver Medical History form, the form must be completed and signed by their doctor for health declaration in order to ensure the participant is suitable to perform such activity.

  10. Required diving equipment including mask, snorkel, towels, slippers, shower room, drinking water, locker, Mer-fin and tails will be provided (Towels and Slippers must be returned to the collection point after use). However, guests will need to prepare a swimsuit for his/ her own.

  11. No cancellation or amendment is allowed after the booking has confirmed.

  12. Latecomers will not be admitted to the course and the course is not eligible for refund.

  13. Tickets are purchased for the session specified. All tickets sold are subject to Management’s right to cancel, alter and/or reschedule the diving course and content or change the size of the group. In the event of cancellation/ postponement of a course, the Management reserves the right to refund the amount paid or to reschedule the course date.

  14. Studio City Developments Limited reserves the right of final decision on the amendments and interpretation of these terms & conditions (including the use, suspension, and cancellation of this voucher and/or this promotion) without prior notice.

  15. All matters and disputes, including the interpretation of these Terms and Conditions, will be subject to the final decision of Studio City.

  16. The English version of these terms & conditions shall prevail and the Chinese translation is for reference only.

  17. Other terms and conditions apply (and will be provided upon request).
