The PRO Hyper Bifins X Carbon–our most customizable bifins ever. Featuring our ‘hyper’ monofin foot pockets, named after Andronov’s hyperboloid for the monofin-specific construction created in the 2000s by Evgeniy Andronov. Personalize your blade and accent color, blade size, blade stiffness, and choose between standard-sized or customized foot pocket size, fit, and angle. Now with an updated blade and foot pocket design.

‘Hyper’ foot pockets
The same foot pockets we use on our monofins are on the PRO Hyper Bifins X, now with a matte and glossy finish. The foot pocket features an inner lining for comfort, arch support for optimum foot positioning, and wings—reinforced rubber that attaches the foot pocket to the blade. A fiberglass insert creates a 'spring-like' effect, giving you more distance with each kick and better energy transfer from your feet to the blade.

Adjustable foot pocket angle
While the standard foot pocket angle is 30°, you have options–tailor your monofin even further to your body depending on your ankle flexibility! Choose 25° for very flexible ankles or 35° if you have limited flexibility.

Superior carbon fiber
100% premium carbon fiber blades–the same carbon used in multiple world-record bifin dives–are featherlight in water and give recreational and competitive freedivers effortless and springy kicks. Now with an updated blade-layering pattern for each blade size to match the stiffness.

Updated blade-layering pattern
Slight adjustments have been made to the blade layers and shape to support the hyper foot pocket. The soft and medium stiffness options are ideal for freedivers who use an ankle-driven technique that focuses on an efficient front and back kick.

New double-sided blade design
The unmistakable minimalistic stripes on the front of the blades are now complemented by the 'molchanovs' text on the back, matching the chosen blade accent color for an even more striking design.

If you’re a professional athlete participating in the World Championships and prefer medium or hard blades to soft ones, we can offer you additional adjustments for foot pockets. Email us at info@molchanovs.com.

If you’re in the market for high-performance bifins with foot pockets that are lighter and have less volume, we recommend the lightweight PRO Hyper Bifins 3 Carbon.

Important note: All of our fins are handcrafted to adjust the shape and stiffness of the blade and to ensure the most effective connection between the foot pocket and the blade. As such, some cosmetic imperfections may be visible. This does not influence blade integrity or performance but simply makes your fins unique.

  • Custom Foot Pocket Fit Guide
The desired fit determines the tightness of the foot pockets. Three options are available:

Comfortable: Allows more space inside of the foot pockets for the feet. The feet will feel like they are on the verge of movement, but will not actually have movement since any friction between the feet and foot pockets will cause blisters. Comfortable for about 2 hours of wear.

Normal: More comfortable compared to the Tight fit. There is slightly more space inside for the feet, but not enough space for extra movement. Allows for about 20 - 50 minutes of wear.

Tight: Specifically designed for performance, which means that the fit is especially tight. This gives you the best control over the blade as the feet are very compressed with no space for any extra movement inside of the foot pocket. Suitable for about 10 - 30 minutes of wear.

Please note: The maximum time a freediver can wear foot pockets (especially Tight fit) depends on their level of experience and how flexible their feet are. If you would like to improve your foot flexibility, watch this video.

    Choosing Bifin Blade Stiffness
Blade stiffness depends on your height, weight, technique, experience, training goals, and blade size. Below are general tips on how to choose the right stiffness. If you are not sure, e-mail info@molchanovs.com with a video attached of one of your dives for a recommendation.

Soft: Suitable for smaller and lighter freedivers, and also for experienced freedivers with excellent ankle-driven technique. Softer blades are more economic in terms of energy consumption, although it mostly remains a preference among freedivers with more strength whether to choose a soft or medium stiffness.

Medium: Suitable for larger and heavier freedivers, freedivers with more lower-body strength, or for freedivers who needs more power.

    Choosing Bifin Blade Size
We also offer the choice of a Small bifin blade for freedivers who are under 65kg (143lb), shorter than 170cm (5 feet 11 inches), or with shorter leg proportions. Small blades feature 10% less surface area than Regular blades and an adjusted ‘bottleneck’ shape. They are particularly ideal for shorter freedivers because of their ease of maneuverability while additionally requiring less power and energy spent on kicks. While the blade-layering structure of both Small and Regular blades are the same, the reduced surface area of the Small blade can make them feel softer than Regular blades.

    Choosing Foot Pocket Angle
The standard 30° footpocket angle will emphasize the back kick. If you have very flexible ankles, we recommend you choose a 25° footpocket angle to balance the load between the ankles and hips. For stiffer, less flexible ankles, choose a 35° angle.
