AIDA2 freediving course

The static and dynamic sessions in confined water are used to teach relaxation, breathing, finning and safety techniques. In the open water sessions students will apply the skills they have learned in the pool / confined water sessions and combine them with the basic skills of open water freediving such as equalizing, duck diving, vertical swimming, body positioning, turns and use of buoyancy.

The freediving theory will include: Introduction to Freediving, Freediving Breathing Cycle, Basic Physiology of Freediving, Equalization, Freediving Techniques, Safety in Freediving, Equipment in Freediving, Freediving Disciplines.


  • >16yrs

  • Can swim 200m non-stop without fins or 300m non-stop with mask, fins and snorkel

Course Schedule :

Theory class - 1 session (4 hrs):

  • All kinds of important information about freediving, safety knowledge, breathing methods, freediving physiology...etc.

Pool training- 2 sessions (2 hrs each):

  • Fins ​kicking, duck dive, Dynamic Apnea/​ no fins, static apnea rescue...etc.

Open water training  - 3 sessions (2 hrs each):

  • Diving, practice Free Immersion, Equalization, duck dive, buddy system and rescue... etc.

​Performance of Completion:

  • Theory Exam

  • Static Apnea (STA): 2mins

  • Dynamic Apnea (DYN): 40m

  • Static and Dynamic Apnea Rescue

  • Constant Weight Apnea (CWT): 12-20m

  • Rescues 5+ metres
